Addressing the growing need for self protection in an uncertain world, Razor Sharp Knives helps people feel secure without needing to deal with the hassle of firearms.
North Attleboro, MA (IPRWIRE) Fri. Sep. 5th, 2008 — Razor Sharp Knives (www.razorsharpknives.com) was established in 2006 as a premium source for quality brand name knives for hunting, camping, self defense or any other conceivable use for edged tools like pocket knive, and fixed blade knives of all kinds. The company has made significant inroads in the consumer knife market through aggressive marketing, exceptional prices and remarkable customer service.
Perceiving a great need within the industry to provide customers genuine name brand products, Razor Sharp Knives early on began guaranteeing the authenticity of its products to its customers. On the surface this is nothing remarkable, but given the existing market conditions where fakes run rampant, this guarantee has been the decisive element that has helped Razor Sharp Knives rapidly rise to prominence as a trusted seller of knives.
But people want more than a guarantee of authenticity and quality. They have begun to seek more out and purchase more than the utilitarian pocket knives that were the mainstays of usefulness for generations of American men.

Hoyt Buck, a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice, was looking for a better way to temper steel so it would hold an edge longer. After a bit of experimentation, he came up with a unique approach and produced the very first Buck knife.
Hoyt Buck fabricated each knife by hand using worn-out file blades as the raw material for the blades and tangs. Years later, after his work had begun to be appreciated by soldiers during World War II, Hoyt and his son Al moved Buck Knives to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947.
In 1964 Al Buck produced the first folding lock blade knife, the Model 110 Folding Hunter. This knife revolutionized the knife industry and established Al as a leading knife maker and innovator and placed Buck Knives at the top of an elite group of premium knife manufacturers.
Now under the leadership of third and forth generation Buck family members, the company carries forward its commitment to innovative development, high quality and customer satisfaction.
Every Buck knife made today uses the very best materials and state-of-the-art technology to create knives that meet or exceed the exacting demands you would expect of other high quality knives. Buck backs up that quality with an unprecedented lifetime warranty, the famous Buck 4-Ever Warranty.
Careful Design and Quality Production
Each knife Buck makes – and the variety is enormous – has been thoroughly designed, engineered and tested for quality. Advanced knowledge of the properties of steel and other metals means that ultimately all Buck knives will have just the right blend of characteristics to ensure years of trouble-free use. The correct application of heat treating and tempering the steel helps the blade hold its edge longer and makes resharpening easier.
Buck’s quality standards don’t stop with the knife itself. Buck Knives solicits feedback from its customers on a regular basis to help it analyze small details like feel, blade strength, operation and overall value and usefulness. For this reason, Buck knives are known to be refreshingly free from gimmicky features that usually manage to lessen the customer’s estimation of these otherwise useful tools over time. Buck takes the idea of extreme attentiveness to customer feedback one step further by offering to make a knife for anyone, using that person’s ideas, in their Custom Knife Shop. Long having a reputation for overall toughness making them suitable for many outdoors uses, Gerber knives have come to represent legendary reliability and long lasting quality in a variety of extreme use situations.
Based in Portland, Oregon Joseph Gerber, then in advertising, hired a local knife maker in 1910 to make him 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as gifts to his advertising clients. These early Gerber knives proved to be successful with the clients, so much so that the acclaim of the knives was widely spread and demand rapidly rose for similar knives to be produced. Ever the astute businessman, Mr. Gerber left his ad business and by 1939 had launched Gerber Legendary Blades.
Fixed Blade Knives by Gerber Legendary Blades
Like many of their owners, Gerber knives have that special quality of rugged, outdoorsy individualism that make them exceptional values for many different demanding tasks. When you think of the Great Outdoors, you generally think of Gerber as the one of the best solutions for whatever cutting chore comes up.
- Gerber’s Big Rock Family of knives feature large blade profiles for heavy cutting requirements
- Gerber’s Freeman Family feature blades perfectly designed to skin and butcher game and other meat
- Gator fillet knives are great for fishing chores
- The Gerber River Family highlights no-slip grips for use in and around water
- The Silver Trident line offers several models of no-nonsense tactical designs for demanding outdoor and emergency situations
Folding Blade Knives by Gerber Legendary Blades
Gerber folders feature the same quality construction and ruggedness that are built in to the company’s fixed blade designs. Many Gerber folding knives are folding versions of their original fixed blade ancestors.
- Like their fixed blade relatives, Gerber’s knives offers folders in the Freeman and Gator Families along with others
- Gerber’s Magnum line feature durable, light blades designed to function as hunting knives
- Gerber folders like the Presto, Crusader, Paraframe, Ridge, Stockman and Truss are excellent for everyday use
- Fire and Rescue knives like the E-Z Out and the Torch feature serrated edges to saw through seat belts, ropes and other restrictions, blunt tips to avoid accidental punctures, and (often) brightly colored handles for easy identification in dim light situations
Gerber Knives also makes many functional sheaths, multi-tools, kitchen cutlery, axes, emergency blades and others items that help make this company’s product line more extensive than most of its competitors. For more information visit www.razorsharpknives.com.
